We also made snow cream today. If you want to know how- look here. My mom used to make this every time it would snow. I lived in south arkansas growing up so snow didnt come often. When it did, snow cream was a tradition !
We read the book "Snowy Day". If I had been on my toes today we would have read it before we went out and point our toes " this way" and " that way" like in the book.
We did have a little surprise while we were walking ! Rosanna's dad came by to say hello. Then, he returned with ROSANNA! We were excited to see her !
Some of the new activities out today were:
Some of the new activities out today were:
White beads for spooning and counting.
Snow flakes for sorting !
and the ICE BREAKERS game. Ok, I am ready to admit, I hate that game. It does nothing to promote independence and then you help them put it together and it takes about 5 seconds flat for them to knock all the ice cubes out. This game gets the vote for my LEAST FAVORITE game of all time! But.... since we started a winter unit I had to bring it out... right?
So glad you had a good day! Whitlee talked all afternoon about the snow walk. She asked if we could make snow ice cream, but I think all our snow has been "tainted" shall we say...
ReplyDeleteI wish we had been in school last week when we had snow. It would be so much fun to have a snow walk. Then again, everything shuts down here when it snows, so class probably would've been canceled!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Debbie! Looks like you've gotten back into the groove, though I know you are missing your dad, my prayers are with you!
ReplyDeleteAwwwww...I miss having that little bit of snow! We had a blizzard over Christmas and got 26 more inches of snow - we are up to about 30 inches, with more on the way as another storm is coming in tonight. We have big drifts and piles and it's really hard for the really little ones to play.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I've been trying to talk myself into bringing out the Break the Ice game, too. I don't like it for the exact same reasons!
