Last week we did Turkey talk. This week it is all about Indians. Today we made Indian headdresses. I found a few years ago the easiest way for me to set that activity up is with bulletin board border. The construction paper is never stiff enough or long enough to go around their heads.We did a little math with this activity. Can we all get FOUR feathers?
I did confiscate these today. After they are dried we will use them this week in circle time and then save them for the big FEAST at the community building the day before Thanksgiving.
One year we made the headdresses THAT day... glue.. hair... not good. :)

ReplyDeleteNormally I do use the term " Native American " I have used that a LOT this month with the children. My great grandmother was full blooded Cherokee Indian.. and that is how she would have said it. Obviously, I have offended the anonymous poster... I apologize.
