Leprechaun, Leprechaun and my mom

Another event filled day at preschool. I was here as the children came in today but had to leave shortly and take my mom to the doctor to follow up her weekend drama. ( We thought she had a stroke .) We got great news at the doctor. Her oncologist said she has adrenal insufficiency. When I got home and looked it up - she had 12 of the 14 listed symptoms. Basically , the chemo has attacked her system so long that her adrenal gland has stopped working the way it should. This can also be caused by long or dramatic stress - well, you know my dad passed away in December so ... I would say she was a prime candidate between the chemo and dealing with my dads death. Anyway, they are putting her on steroid treatment and she even looked better before we left the office . ( While there they gave her IV's meds.) In case there is any doubt in your mind, I would MUCH rather be here at work than at doctors visits. What I am trying to do is let other family members take her when there are treatments or test and me only go when there is a doctor visit so I can stay on top of what they are doing and her prognosis. My mom devoted her life to me in my childhood and now it is my turn to take care of her. Thanks for allowing me the space to do that. And.. I am SO thankful for Jodie being able to fill in whenever I need her here - with a smile.

Now that I have rambled I will give you a short short version of their day.

In small groups they used the rubber stamp in a math activity with Ms Jodie. If there was a 3 in the box the stamped 3 leprechauns, if there was a 6- they stamped 6 etc... She said all of the Pre kindergarten kids did great and 80% of the 3's. :)

They also painted their hands and arms for a " craft " we will finish tomorrow!

In circle time they read more about leprechauns and played

Leprechaun Leprechaun
Where's your gold?
Somebody stole it from you home !

Fun day I am sure. I am sad I missed it.
